Dr. Brown is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and the milestones are many on her pathway to success. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, as well as a Masters and a Doctorate degree in Education. Being the “first” is a hallmark of this remarkable woman’s journey. She was in the first group of African-American students to integrate her high school, St. Mary’s Dominican. She was the first African-American Director of Nursing for Milwaukee County. She established the first school operated by an African-American church in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and she was the first female consecrated to the Office of Bishop in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship.
Bishop Brown is President of Believers in Christ Ministries, Inc., spearheading a variety of ministry programs, all geared to fulfill her dream in life of bringing men, women, boys and girls to Jesus Christ.
Bishop Brown has a particular passion for the continued development of pastors and ministers. She has conducted revivals, conferences, retreats and teaching sessions throughout the United States, Canada, the Bahamas and Japan. This woman of God has served in many progressively responsible capacities in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship. She has been a Board member of the School of Ministry and the Pastor’s Division, Personal Advisor to the founding Bishop, Bishop Paul S. Morton, and has also served as First Assistant to the Presiding Bishop, Bishop Joseph W. Walker III. Her most recent appointment was to the office of Bishop over the Educational Division of the Fellowship.
Dr. Brown is committed to education and ensuring that a quality education is available to everyone. Her concern for educational reform led her and her ministry, Believers in Christ, to establish The Christian Academy, the High School of Excellence and the Kids aRe Smart Early Childhood Development and Learning Center. She is also one of the organizing members of BAEO (Black Alliance for Educational Options) and CEO (Clergy for Educational Options) High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This was a collaborative effort among clergy of the city to create a quality inter-denominational high school. Bishop Brown has worked untiringly with parents, clergy, legislators and educational reformers across this country. She is committed to excellence and has developed a pre-school-high school program that serves as a prototype for innovation in education. She also formed Intelligence Inc., an educational training and consulting firm.
